AVG Update from Directory
Issue:
AVG is giving a .BIN file is missing error message.
Solution 1:
Step 1 : Delete temporary files and update again.
Open AVG.
Click Options, and then click Advanced settings.
In the left part of the Advanced Settings window click Update..
Click Manage in the left menu. The Update Management options will be shown.
Click Delete temporary update files, and then click Yes. Once the deleting is finished, click OK.
Click OK in the bottom-right corner of the AVG window to save all changes.
In the main AVG window click Update now or Protection is up-to-date to download updates.
If this fails, please follow the next step.
Step 2 : Update from directory.
AVG can be updated from a directory (local storage) as well. To update AVG from a directory, please follow these steps:
Download first four AVG update files in the name of (Iavi: 10089, Ifw: 237, Ichjw: 4 and Link Scanner: 2692) from http://www.avg.com/update. Store the update files on on your computer (eg : you can create a folder naming AVG UPDATES in "Documents" and store the update files there).
Open the AVG Program.
On the Options, click Update from directory.
Navigate to the 'AVG UPDATES' folder where the AVG update files are stored and click OK.
AVG will be updated
