Activation Process.

When activating your Office product in Windows 8.1/10 you will need to complete the following steps. Please ensure that your Windows activation has been completed. If Windows is not activated please allow the Microsoft Update process to complete and then review your Windows activation again. Once Windows is activated you may start your Office Activation.

Microsoft article: Activate an Office purchase or free offer on a new PC

NOTE: An active Internet connection is required to activate your Office 2016 or 365 product.

When you begin, you will see the Office factory pre-install version reflected as Microsoft Office Home and Student 2016 or Microsoft Office 365, which will change (i.e. upgrade or downgrade as applicable) on its own to your Office product version purchase once activation processing is completed.

Once you initiate the activation process, please wait until all of the Office upgrades, downgrades, and updates have been completed on Microsoft's backend. This activation processing may take longer than just a few minutes, dependent upon the strength of your Internet connection. Please close all open Office Apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) - this can speed up upgrade/downgrade/update completion. Please return later to check and verify that you have successfully activated your Office product purchase.
